10 creative tips for your child to enjoy cooking, while making it easier and fun.

10 ways for your child to enjoy cooking, while making it earlier and fun.

Choose a recipe that your child is willing to eat when all is said and done.

Read the recipe with your child, have your child check to make sure you have all the ingredients.

Prep ahead of time. Crop, grate and peel before you start.

If time, take your child food shopping for the items needed for your cooking project.

Have your little one ‘Step Up’ to cooking. Have a step stool and apron ready. There are also many fun and affordable child friendly cooking utensils that can be used in every kitchen.

Leave the mixing and pouring to your child. Give them responsibilities; expect alittle mess and a lot of laughs.

Don’t forget that cookie cutters can be used for all kinds of fun shapes in food and pizza cutters or plastic knifes make a great alternative instead of sharp knives.

Make this time a good time to learn about your child’s day. Take the opportunity to listen.

Taste as you go along. Have your child watch what happens. What is happening in the over, or on the stove? Great opportunity for kitchen safety talk.

Have your child help set the table. Children can do this on their own and if the utensils and dishes are kept in lower cabinets and drawers it makes it a lot easier while still giving them the responsibility.

Enjoy what your child made and share the experience!

For most parents sending your child to preschool for the first time is a nerve racking and perhaps stressful situation. Don’t forget, you are not alone. Your child could be going through the same feelings that you are. Remember that most children can sense what you are feeling. We always recommend to our families that they be strong for their child, even if you want to cry the first time your child walks into their preschool classroom. Remind your child that they are safe, will have fun and that you will be returning.

Before your child’s first day of preschool, put together all of the items he or she will need and label them. Allow your child to be part of the process. Discuss with your child the experiences he or she may have on the first day, the names of his or her teachers and whether the class will be going outside. Give us a call to see when you can come in to show your child the center and their classroom.

Explain to your child some of the school’s policies. For example, let your child know that he or she needs to tell the teacher when they needs to use the bathroom and what to do if your child doesn’t feel well. One way to help your child to socialize and become more comfortable in their new environment is to role play with your child different situations as classmates and as the teacher. These are just a few ways to help your child start a healthy preschool experience.

Here at Kiddie Kampus of Medford our focus is simple: to provide each child with a warm, supportive and nurturing environment.

Greetings from Kiddie Kampus of Medford!
Kiddie Kampus serves nearly 100 children who attend our part time, as well as, our full time program. Our faculty of 18 is committed to excellence, and works collaboratively to establish a warm, nurturing environment in order to foster a truly memorable early childhood experience.

Here at Kiddie Kampus of Medford our focus is simply to provide each child with a warm, supportive and nurturing environment. I believe that it is extremely important for parents and Kiddie Kampus faculty to work together to ensure that every child is welcomed, and a part of our learning center. We need to support eachother. We are all in this together.

Kiddie Kampus works very hard at providing creative activities and enhancing our program everyday. We frequently host events and special activities that require parent or family participation. I encourage you to participate and be a part of the Kiddie Kampus family and be involved whenever possible. Nothing is more meaningful to your child than your time and involvement.

We encourage our families to stay involved by visiting our website for frequent updates and our Facebook page and Twitter account. We are working hard to continually update our sites with news and events, pictures, reminders and informational articles.

I am thrilled that everyday I am able to be a part of your children’s young lives and have the opportunity to see them experience learning. I look forward to meeting all of our new families and welcoming you into our learning community.

Sincerely,
